The number of people who agree to “voluntary” return from Greece to their country of origin with the programme of “Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration” (AVRR) of the IOM is significantly higher than the number of deportations to Turkey since the EU-Turkey statement. Between June 2016, when the Greek the AVRR program came into force, and May 2018, over 10.000 people have been returned according to the programme. In this section, information about the AVRR programme is provided through weekly and monthly updates on returns.
